Intake/System Navigator

MiND-AID is growing to meet the increasing demand for our services in Muskoka and surrounding area. We are looking for someone who has a passion for supporting children, teens and young adults in getting connected to the care, services and resources they need to feel and be their best selves. This position consists of two separate roles and will fluctuate between the two roles as needed, depending on demand. As a first point of contact for young people and guardians reaching out to MiND-AID for help, the Intake part of this role will require communication via email, text, phone online video chat or in person, to learn more about each person’s needs and goals, in an effort to prepare each for the next step. The Navigator part of the role is the second step and determines a menu of options of care suitable to each young person’s unique circumstances, based on information shared during the Intake process. The client-led journey of each young person supported may require assistance by way of advocacy, supported connections to care/services, accompaniment to meetings and appointments, or the facilitation of the forming of a circle of care including other providers. The Intake/Navigator may also participate in community outreach through various MiND-AID programs. Duties • Communicate with young people and guardians in need of support, as well as any referring agencies and providers within the greater community network • Understand, use and update MiND-AID’s internal resource guide • Record detailed client case notes in a secure online database, conduct surveys, collect and organize stats • Work as part of MiND-AID’s small dynamic Navigation team, coordinating schedules, client caseloads and traveling across the District of Muskoka as needed • Attend events and travel with the Mobile Youth Wellness Hub team, delivering integrated youth services at schools, various locations and youth gatherings • Host virtual and in-person meetings with other providers, youth and parents/guardians • Regularly evaluate programs & components to measure successes and challenges • Other duties as assigned Skills • Driven, independent and passionate about youth mental health and wellness • People skills and a natural ability to connect with youth (pre-teens, teens and young adults) and parents/guardians • Ability to demonstrate respect, kindness, patience and warmth in all interactions with clients, while strongly advocating with diplomacy within the greater service network and each client’s circle of care • Strong understanding of youth mental health/wellness, service pathways, processes, terminology, and local related resources, services, care and offerings • Strong writing and communication fluency • Strong self organization, flexible problem solving, strategic thinking, resourcefulness and a ‘can-do’ attitude • A compassionate and empathetic approach to working with all those around you, including young people in our network, coworkers, and other stakeholders • Ability to implement roadmaps and workplans to accomplish program objectives Qualifications • Post-secondary education in relevant discipline is an asset • 1-2 years of experience working in youth/family health & wellness, system navigation, advocacy and/or case coordination (clinical experience an asset but not necessary) • Mental Health First Aid and DEI training or equivalent is an asset • Lived experience is an asset • Clean vulnerable sector police check Position Type: Full Time Salary: $28-$30 per hour Reports to: Program Manager and/or Executive Director Location: Work mostly from home, also remotely, in community spaces and on the mobile youth wellness hub This position offers a health benefits account package.

MiND-AID is on an exciting trajectory forward, and we are looking for someone who is creative and loves supporting the wellness of others, has passion and skill for engaging communities, and wants to make a positive difference for local youth. As the community-facing representative of MiND-AID programs, the Youth Engagement Facilitator will perform community outreach to engage with, uplift and empower young people and their families. This position will involve travel, community collaboration and a dynamic schedule with seasonally varying events and engagements. This position includes the creation and implementation of youth programs, activities and events, while at its core, having the goal of creating a warm and inviting relationship/environment where youth will feel comfortable sharing their struggles and needs. Duties • Create, develop and deliver engaging activities & workshops to youth, indoors and outdoors, in small and large groups, at various facilities, including on our new area Mobile Youth Wellness Hub, as well as at various events, in collaboration with community partners. • Assist youth in getting connected to MiND-AID’s Navigation Team and Nurse Practitioner, to receive wellness support and mental health care through our integrated youth service Hub. • Foster collaborative relationships with community agencies, providers, organizations, schools and educators, and other key persons and entities. • Work as part of MiND-AID’s small impactful team, coordinating schedules, managing the outreach program calendar, and traveling across the District of Muskoka to deliver programs in a 36ft long integrated youth services hub. • Use a variety of online databases and tools to track and monitor youth progress, needs and outcomes. • Regularly evaluate programs & components to measure successes and challenges. • Other duties as assigned. Hub Driver (Part-Time)

MiND-AID is looking for a person with experience driving a Class A Motorhome or large equivalent vehicle, and who is looking for 3 seasons (spring to fall) of employment part-time (10 to 30 hours per week). MiND-AID is managing a new mobile youth wellness hub, which is a 36ft class A motorhome modified as a drop-in space and clinic for young people looking for support for a variety of wellness needs. The Hub Driver would be tasked with maintaining the motorhome and its onboard systems, driving it to its engagements around the District of Muskoka, fueling it up and taking it for repairs. The seasonal schedule of its travels will change: In winter it will be winterized and stored. In the spring and fall it will be on the road visiting local high schools over the lunch hour and after-school stops nearby at libraries, rec centres, as well as the occasional event. The hub vehicle will also travel to more remote communities once a month each to give those communities a chance to connect. During the summer months, when students are not in school, the hub vehicle would make appearances at camps, farmers markets, festivals, events, community centres and libraries, on a more irregular schedule. The Hub Driver would drive it 4 days a week on average from spring to fall and would need to be prepared to occupy their own time while it sits at each stop location (approx. two hours for each). The Hub Driver would coordinate timing and details with the hub team members who will be working with the youth at each stop. If there is experience with youth, there is also an opportunity to work with hub team to deliver programming and interact with youth at each stop. Duties • Maintain Class A Motorhome (Hub) vehicle & systems and organize servicing, repairs & storage • Prepare, drive and park the Hub for community visits • Coordinate schedule with Hub team members • Communicate with personnel at each stop location Skills • Driving experience, training, skills with Class A motorhome or equivalent large vehicle and in-town as well as highway driving • Understanding and comfort with maintenance of on-board systems of vehicle • Strong communication, reliability, punctuality and organizational skills to coordinate with rest of team and personnel for and at each location the hub visits • Knowledge of District of Muskoka and/or willingness to learn area • Comfort and skill in navigation (GPS, mapping, estimating drive times and otherwise) • Comfort and patience with downtime at each stop • A positive approach to working with all those around you, including young people, coworkers, and other stakeholders • Experience with youth is an asset but is not necessary Qualifications • Safe driving record • Driver training is an asset but not a requirement if there is proven skill/experience • Must have or be willing to acquire a Vulnerable Sector Police Check for community safety Position Type: Part-Time (10 to 30 hours per week) Salary: $25-$30/hour depending on experience Reports to: Program Manager and/or Executive Director Location: Within the District of Muskoka and surrounding area, to south of Orillia for necessary repairs and maintenance
